Langtang Trek

OverView

The Langtang region offers trekkers a diverse mix of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and adventure. This 17-day trek leads you through lush forests, beautiful valleys, and sacred lakes, including the famous Gosainkunda. Along the way, trekkers will witness stunning views of snow-capped peaks like Langtang Lirung and visit ancient monasteries. Experience the unique Tamang culture and enjoy a peaceful hike away from the busy trails of the Everest and Annapurna regions.
 

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m) +

Arrive in Kathmandu, where you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Nepali welcome dinner.

Day 2: Sightseeing around Kathmandu +

Explore UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath, and Bouddhanath.
  

Day 3: Drive to Syabrubesi +

A scenic 6-hour drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, passing through picturesque landscapes and mountain vistas.

Day 4: Trek to Lama Hotel (2,410m) +

Cross the Bhote Koshi River and trek through lush forests of oak, maple, and pine, arriving at Lama Hotel after a 5-hour trek.
 

Day 5: Trek to Langtang Village (3,430m) +

Trek along the Langtang Khola, gradually climbing through the forest and passing small settlements before reaching Langtang village.
 

Day 6: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m) +

A 3-4 hour trek leads you to Kyanjin Gompa, passing yak pastures and crossing small streams. Visit the local cheese factory and explore the monastery.
 

Day 7: Hike to Kyanjin Ri (4,350m) and back to Kyanjin Gompa +

Enjoy a morning hike to Kyanjin Ri for panoramic views of Langtang Lirung and other peaks. Return to Kyanjin Gompa for overnight.
 

Day 8: Trek back to Lama Hotel (2,410m) +

Retrace your steps downhill, enjoying the surrounding mountain scenery on the way back to Lama Hotel.
 

Day 9: Trek to ThuloSyabru (2,230m) +

Trek through beautiful landscapes, passing through forests and traditional villages. Keep an eye out for red pandas, monkeys, and various bird species.
 

Day 10: Trek to Cholangpati (3,650m) +

Climb steadily through pine and rhododendron forests to reach the small settlement of Cholangpati, a great spot for mountain views.
 

Day 11: Trek to Gosainkunda +

Enter the Gosainkunda protected area, with the trail leading to the sacred lake of Gosainkunda, a major pilgrimage site.

Day 12: Cross Laurebina Pass (4,610m) and trek to Tharepati (3,690m) +

Begin the day by crossing Laurebina Pass, the highest point of the trek. Afterward, descend through forests to reach Tharepati.

Day 13: Trek to Kutumsang (2,470m) +

Descend through rhododendron and oak forests, with stunning views of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges.
 

Day 14: Trek to Chisapani (2,165m) +

Continue trekking through villages and terraced fields to Chisapani, known for its spectacular views of the Himalayas.

Day 15: Trek to Sundarijal and drive to Kathmandu +

A final day of trekking through Shivapuri National Park. After reaching Sundarijal, take a short drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 16: Free Day in Kathmandu +

A leisure day to explore the city, shop for souvenirs, or relax.

Day 17: Departure +

Transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
